Bringing out the best...
John Graham will be preaching along the same lines at the Haven Congregation. I do hope you can join us in one of our gatherings.
I’ve found myself thinking a lot about this subject since over the last few weeks and I’ve been thinking about this little verse
Acts 27: 42.43 ‘The soldiers wanted to kill the prisoners to make sure they didn’t swim ashore and escape. But the commanding officer wanted to spare Paul, so he didn’t let them carry out their plan.’
The favour that Paul had received brought about favour for others. Having Paul present, even in the shared trauma of a storm, made a positive difference for others.
Do we live our lives in such a way that we make it better for those around us? Do we live our lives in such a way that we bring out the best in those around us?
I’m deeply challenged today that I want to live, to lead and to love in such a way that it makes life better for those around me. If God has been gracious enough to put me near people then I want to respond in his love and make their world a better place.
For Paul that meant his companion prisoners lives were spared.
I’ve been encouraged again this week by the incredible people that are the Wellspring Family. You are making the lives of those around you better by being you. Be encouraged. Keep going. You are making a difference. And if like me, you feel that you could do better then there is good news! The Holy Spirit will help us.
For King and Kingdom
